Concepts
Glossary

The concepts that come up most when talking about AlmaOS, in plain language.
- Company memory
- Your business's living knowledge — decisions, clients, deals, the why behind things — stored so anyone can query it, instead of living in one person's head.
- AI cofounder
- How we think of AlmaOS: not an assistant that forgets, but a partner that accumulates judgment and remembers what your business shouldn't forget.
- AI-first
- Building the business on an AI that accumulates context instead of starting from zero every day. It's not putting a chatbot on your website: it's your AI knowing you.
- Verifiable source (citation)
- The origin of every answer: the paragraph in the document, the minute of the call, the exact note. The difference between asserting something and being able to prove it.
- Continuity
- Knowledge that isn't lost when someone leaves or goes on holiday. Context stays in the business, not with the person.
- AI hallucination
- When an AI answers something that sounds right but is false or made up. That's why AlmaOS always answers with the source: so you can check it.
- GDPR
- The EU data protection regulation. For you it means your data is handled lawfully, with a processing agreement and your rights guaranteed.
- EU data residency
- Your data lives on servers in Europe and never leaves EU territory. Key if you handle sensitive client information.
- MemoryFirst
- The AI memory engine running under AlmaOS. You see sourced answers; MemoryFirst is the machinery that makes them possible.
